About Us
We are a non-profit organization in operation continuously since our incorporation in March of 1952. The Board of Directors meet on the third Monday of each month. If you are interested in attending one of our meetings, you may do so by calling 215-345-5355.
Some of our objectives and purposes as set forth in our articles of incorporation are as follows:

To maintain superior civic conditions in Buckingham Township

To preserve and improve Buckingham Township as an agricultural and rural residential community

To cooperate with the elected officers of Buckingham Township and Bucks County to the end that the public services of said Township may be improved and effectively advanced and its interest best served

To study problems affecting the welfare of Buckingham Township and to disseminate information and knowledge thereby derived to the citizens of said Township

To promote, cultivate, organize, express and represent the civic, social and recreational interests of the members of this Association, the residents of Buckingham Township and their families

To educate the citizens of Buckingham Township in its rich historical background and in both old and advanced methods of horticulture, agriculture and animal husbandry
Board of Directors
Albert Becker
Treasurer
A director since 2000, Treasurer Al Becker maintains the bank accounts for the BTCA, ensuring that the revenues are deposited in appropriate accounts and expenses are paid. He files tax returns, arranges insurance, and submits the paperwork to keep our trademarks current. Mr. Becker has served as President and Vice President of the Association in the past.
Susan Sciacca
Recording Secretary
A director since 2008, Susan Sciacca became the recording secretary in 2009. She is responsible for taking minutes at each meeting of the directors. She is also the editor of the quarterly Civic Sense newsletter. In 2013 she finished a complete overhaul of the Association’s bylaws. Every two years she helps organize our Meet the Candidates night for the township elections.
Joan Irvin
A member of the Board of Directors since 2003, Joan Irvin served as the recording secretary from 2003 to 2009. She has a particular interest in helping at the Community Garden.
Leah Hight
Since joining the Board in 2011, Leah Hight has been responsible for every aspect of the Community Garden including weeding, fertilizing, organizing volunteers to help out, diagnosing problems, harvesting, and delivering to the food pantry. She also runs the annual Flea Market in Holicong Park to benefit the garden.
Leigh Vlasblom
A director since 2011, Leigh Vlasblom organizes the annual Easter Egg Hunt. She is also responsible for social media and membership.
Kathy Gibson
A director since 2013, Kathy Gibson has been an invaluable helper in the Community Garden and at the Easter Egg hunt. She also frequently helps out with children’s crafts at the Farmers’ Market and coordinates with the Newcomers’ Club to benefit our events.
Robin Hinsdale
Our newest director will be focused on the Community Garden, including weeding, fertilizing, organizing volunteers to help out, diagnosing problems, harvesting and delivering to the food pantry.
Affiliate Board Members
Our organization would not be complete without our Affiliate Board Members, who are high school students from Central Bucks East who participate in all the various activities of the board, including the Community Garden, the Doylestown Farmers’ Market, social media, the Civic Sense newsletter and the very website you are currently reading. We thank our current affiliates, who are about to leave us to start their college careers. They are:
